'An internal and local Conservative Party audit in Devizes has revealed that one of our candidates in the Devizes Town Council election is not qualified by residence as they believed they were. This is a genuine mistake by the individual concerned. The candidate has informed the Electoral Registration Officer and will neither take any further part in the campaign process nor take up their seat if elected.'
